It’s not every night a pop concert morphs into a Broadway singalong, but midway through Trousdale’s sold-out set at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA, that’s exactly what happened. The Los Angeles trio of Lauren Jones, Quinn D’Andrea, and Georgia Greene surprised the crowd—and myself as a huge theater fan—with a medley from Wicked, turning the venue into a singalong karaoke bar for a few unforgettable moments. This playful detour underscored a significant milestone: Trousdale’s first time selling out two consecutive nights at The Sinclair, a testament to their rising stardom.
Before Trousdale took the stage, the evening commenced with a unique collaborative set from openers Beane, Nia Ashleigh, and buffchick. Rather than performing separate sets, the artists shared the stage, rotating lead vocals and supporting each other instrumentally. This cohesive approach showcased their individual talents while creating a unified, engaging performance that set an uplifting tone for the night.
Trousdale opened with “Lonely Night,” and wasted no time immediately enveloping the audience in their signature three-part harmonies. Their setlist leaned heavily on tracks from their sophomore album, Growing Pains, including standouts like “Over and Over” and “Vertigo.” The trio also treated fans to an a cappella rendition of the first song they wrote together in college, highlighting their roots while showcasing how their harmonies have evolved over time.
The encore featured “The Ick,” a vinyl-exclusive track that humorously explores the sudden onset of romantic disinterest, something most of us have unfortunately experienced at some time or another. The soon-to-be superstars concluded with “If I’m Honest,” a powerful anthem that perfectly encapsulates the band’s harmonious synergy. Throughout the performance, Trousdale’s blend of heartfelt lyrics, polished musicianship, and authentic connection with the audience showcased exactly why their gaining popularity everywhere they go.
Trousdale’s Growing Pains tour not only marks their evolution as artists but also sees the trio beginning to carve out their own space in the scene. Their ability to intertwine personal growth with collective experience, all bundled up into harmonious perfection, is a recipe for success and I won’t be surprised to see them headlining even bigger venues on coming tours.
